iPhone 5 assembly has begun

Japanese website macotacara.jp has recently reported that assembly for the iPhone 5 has begun, according to a “Chinese” source.
The source told Macotacara that tech manufacturing companies Foxconn Technology and Pegatron Technology are to begin making iPhone 5′s, with both companies responsible for 85% an 15% of production respectively.
They also mentioned that the “assembled” iPhone 5′s are not yet packaged, due to the iOS 5 not being finalized yet.
As reported here recently, an October release is mentioned. They also added that a late October release for Asian markets is to expected.
The Apple iPhone 5 is rumored to have a bigger screen, some speculate up to 4 inches with an edge to edge design. Processing power is said to be done with an A5 dual-core processor. Also, there are strong suggestions of an elongated, gesture based home button. Many have also speculated that an 8MP camera will be equipped on the iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 Release Not Sept But Oct Claims Source

Ah the wonderful world of Apple gear release date speculation, a subject that changes quicker than any quick-change artist in the entertain business can manage. Earlier today we posted that word was the next generation iPhone was going to be release in the last two weeks of September which was suggested by AT&T issuing an employee vacation blackout for that period, something that which seems quite feasible.

However it appears that not everyone is of the same mind when it comes to the iPhone 5 and the much debated release time, as according to an article over on AllThingsD, said rumours about the next iOS smartphone coming in September are wrong.

According to their article, unnamed sources with “knowledge of the situation,” say that those claiming that AT&T blacking our employee vacations for the last two weeks of September due to the release of the iPhone 5 are misinformed.

Apparently a source of the unnamed variety and familiar with Apple’s plans says, “I don’t know why AT&T’s calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it’s not for an iPhone launch.”

When pressed for a date for the release of the much-expected iPhone 5 apparently the source answered “October,” but declined to come forth with a hard date. While apparently other sources again of the unnamed variety say to expect the release “later rather in the month rather than sooner.”

Apparently said source didn’t offer any clues as to the design of the iPhone 5, but popular rumour has it that the next generation iPhone will come with an 8 megapixel camera, a CDMA/GSM Qualcomm dual mode baseband and the faster A5 processor.

Having said that there has been a great deal of speculation on what the new iPhone will look like and what it will feature, but as with all these release date rumours nothing has been confirmed.

I have to say that as these release date rumours come thick and fast and seem to contradict each other it is somewhat difficult to know just when Apple will allow their latest iOS device to come out and play, but then isn’t that always the case when it comes to Apple?

So for now anyway, the iPhone 5 could possibly, maybe release in September, or could possibly maybe release in late October, but in reality the only people that know for sure is Apple and their are not about to put all the iOS faithful out of their speculation misery until they are good and ready to do so.

Real iPhone 5 aka Air, How It Should Be

The new Apple iPhone 5 is launching within the next couple of months, and it will be called the iPhone Air, this is how it should be. No one knows what it is going to look like but if this is the real design then we will all be jumping for joy.

Ciccarese Design has come up with a concept that we believe Apple should make reality, the iPhone 5 aka Air is what is all about, a cross between the new iPhone 4 design mixed in with the little MacBook Air love.

It starts of at the top as the iPhone 4 (Sort Of) and then tapers to a thin tapered edge at the bottom (Sweet is the word here). This looks totally stunning, when it comes to the design of a mobile phone you cannot beat the Apple, make it open source and then all will be on the happy train.

It features the awesome edge-to-edge touchscreen display; surely these renderings of the iPhone Air could come true. If Apple can get so much power into the MacBook Air can you imagine what they can get into the next-generation iPhone coming in September?
Personally an edge-to-edge display is a little silly, like iDB suggest “How would you get an iPhone case on it”, that is a valid point.

Why is Apple keeping the design a mystery? Come on Apple just give some sort of insight to the next release of the iPhone, it is all about titillation just to stop iOS users swaying onto the Android side. Excite and they stay, disappoint and they go. Simple process really, Apple really needs to pull something good out of the bag, the specs need to be amazing, and the design if like the iPhone Air will turn heads.

Please let us know what you think of the design, love to know what you think of it. Whilst your here please let us know what specifications you would like to see on the new iPhone. Thanks
If you like for a bit of fun until the real official announcements come in, why not send us some of your designs of what you think the iPhone 5 will look like. Grab a piece of paper or use your computer / laptop and email us at mark@phonesreview.co.uk your iPhone 5 designs, add a few specs and features into the mix as well if you like.

Really looking forward to hearing from you all, thanks again.

iPhone 5 Could Be, Possibly, Maybe Spotted

Apple employee walks into a bar, and leaves behind a next generation iPhone, I’m sure you all remember just how theiPhone 4 was prematurely revealed and the following commotion that ensued causing the net to explode with curiosity. Well what we have here is the latest rumour of the iPhone 5 that reminds us of that particular happening.

This time round though the latest piece in the new iPhone jigsaw, is a whole lot thinner, as according to an article over on 9to5 Mac, a reader of theirs believes he has seen a possible Apple employee in San Francisco using what the readers believes is the iPhone 5, and snapped a not too clear image and sent it into the guys at 9to5 Mac.

Apparently the reader managed to get a fairly good look at the handset and does say the image doesn’t do it justice, so the guys contacted the tipster and they now believe the tipster saw “a totally new Apple device, probably a prototype iPhone 5.”

According to the tipster, this new Apple device “looked too amazing to be built by anyone besides Apple,” and claims the handset has an “almost EVO-like” display size, with rounded metal edges like that on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, (take note Samsung, perhaps fodder for that copying the look and feel lawsuit) and appears to be thinner and wider than the current iPhone 4.

Apparently the back of the device is curved glass or plastic although the tipster wasn’t sure, but would guess at glass. Also the tipster believes that the person using the device was “trying to hide he had more than the average smartphone user.”

The tipster says he didn’t get to see the home button and the Apple logo was concealed by the user all but for a brief moment, but does say that the smartphone would fit perfectly into the green case that 9to5 Mac had posted previously.

So there you have it, one guy claiming that he’s seen a possible Apple employee using what he presumes to be the iPhone 5 out in the wild in San Francisco. I have to say that looking at the image, which can be seen below, that’s drawing some pretty big conclusions and isn’t really any hard evidence.
But who knows, this unnamed tipster could be, possibly, maybe correct in his assumptions, but then again it could be something completely different, as I’m fairly sure after what happened with the iPhone 4, Apple would have learnt their lesson and vigorously instructed employees to make sure no one spots their new devices before time.

So what do our readers think, could this picture actually be the first sighting of the next generationiOS smartphone? Feel free to voice your opinions to our comments area below.

iPhone 5 Named As Orange France Breaks Apple Rule

Although everyone and their aunt knows that Apple’s next generation iPhone will probably come out to play as the iPhone 5, there’s hasn’t been any confirmation that the next iOS smartphone will actually be known as the iPhone 5, that is up until recently when Orange France made a booby and made mention of “iPhone 5” in a recent job listing.

According to an article over on The Next Web, although Apple has banned their partners from referring to the Apple device by name, Orange France made a faux pas by referencing the iPhone 5 in a job listing that’s been live since the 11th of August.

However when checking out that job listing now, all evidence pertaining to the iPhone 5 has been removed. The job listing seeks an intern for the company’s mobile multimedia division to “implement and automate monitoring methods on the mobile Internet of its customers.”

Apparently the listing refers one terminal to be the “iPhone 5” the applicant would need to determine the impact said device would have on client Internet usage.

So basically meaning Orange France has called the iPhone 5 by what it believes the device will be known as, the iPhone 5.

No doubt Orange on realising their faux pas acted quickly to alter the job listing, whether that was at the demand of Apple or off their own back is unknown, and until Apple actually unveils the next generation iOS smartphone, which is expected to happen in September, just what the handset will actually be called is still just speculation.

Having said that, the general consensus is Apple will follow the iPhone 4 with the iPhone 5 for its high end market and possible call the expected less expensive iPhone the iPhone 4S although it has been rumoured that device could be known as the iCloud iPhone.

Anyway other than Orange putting their foot in it by referring to the device as the iPhone 5, most are fairly confident the handset will appears touting that handle, of course we could all be quite wrong in our assumptions.

iPhone 5 To Account For Half Of 2H11 Apple Orders

Looks like Apple is gearing up with great expectations for the next generationiPhone, a device that no doubt is guaranteed to be a huge success and as such have revised their iOS smartphone orders for the second half of 2011, raising said orders by 15-20 percent.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo, Chinese site Digitimes, the order volumes include the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and of course the iPhone 5, taking Apple’s orders from 50 million up to 56 million for the second half of the year.

Apparently Q3 orders for the iPhone 5 have been lowered to 5.5-6 million, which is down from the original 7 million, however apparently the iPhone 5 will account for roughly half of that 56 million, which means somewhere between 25.5-26 million handsets.

Furthermore according to the unnamed source total shipments of iPhone units in 2011 will hit the 95 million mark.

Well I think Apple shouldn’t have too much of a problem shifting 26 million iPhone 5 handsets considering the vast interest in the next generation iPhone, that is of course if manufacturers can actually churn them out fast enough.

It does show those that the iPhone 3GS is still part of the Apple production line and isn’t yet destined for the smartphone scrap yard, what is interesting though is that there’s no mention of a lower end less expensive iPhone amongst those figures, which seems kind of strange considering the rumours are Apple will release a cheaper iPhone.

So one could guess that either Apple has put the handcuffs on anyone stating anything about a less expensive iPhone or the rumours could be completely wrong and no cheaper iPhone will surface alongside the iPhone 5, what do you think?

iPhone 5 Gets Unboxed On Video But Is It Real

Well, with not all that long to go hopefully until Apple deems fit to unleash onto the iOS faithful the next generation iPhone, the rumours and purposed iPhone 5 sightings seem to be hitting the net waves quite rapidly, and now a couple of days ago it appears a video has popped up teasing all Apple followers with an unboxing of a “real iPhone 5.”

Of course whether the iPhone 5 featured in the unboxing video footage is real or fake is up for discussion. The real iPhone 5 unboxing video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Zagg, and delivers just over a minute and a half of a guys called Jake who claims he’s getting hold of the new iPhone 5 and sets about unboxing the iOS device.

Apparently Jake claims he got the iPhone 5 from “a source that shall not be named,” nothing unusual there then, and then takes the much sought after handset out of the box and quite casually says, “just looking at it, definitely just looking at it, the screen is bigger for sure.”

I mean come on, if you had the first iPhone 5 in existence and where doing an unboxing for the whole mobile world to see, wouldn’t you be somewhat excited? Not this guy apparently as he seems quite matter-of-fact when he comes to handling what he is trying to push off as the first time anyone sees a real iPhone 5, which leads me to believe this guy is pulling someone’s chain.

Still I guess I could be wrong and he could actually have a real iPhone 5, but if he has and Apple has seen this video then I’m sure they will be soon knocking on his door with the acceptable quantity of lawyers in tow.

However as it stands, mainly due to the guys ‘couldn’t-really-care-less attitude to what should be the first unboxing of the world’s most talked about and rumoured device, I believe this video is a fake, fraud, sham, hoax, or whatever else you’d like to call it.

So anyway, head on down and mash that play button and check out this supposed unboxing footage of the “real iPhone 5,” and then hit our comments area below to let us know if you think the device is the real deal or not…enjoy.

Apple Event Possibly On Sept 7: iPhone 5 Incoming?

Phones Review Quickie: As most people will know, Apple usually holds their annual iPod event in September and this year’s fall event schedule hasn’t yet been announced, however apparently a Japanese site is claiming that Apple will hold said event on the 7th of September, 8th September Japanese time.

According to the guys over at MacRumors, Japanese site Kodawarisan has come up with the Apple event date, although of course Apple obviously hasn’t confirmed that date yet, but according to the guys the website did pinpoint the launch date of the new Mac Mini back in 2009.

Traditionally Apple has always opted to hold their fall event during the month of September, with last year’s on the 1st, 2009 on the 9th and 2008 on the 9th as well, September the 7th being a Wednesday.

However as Apple forewent unveiling the next generation iPhone back during WWDC 2011 when everyone expected it to happen, this year’s fall event bring most excitement than usual as many believe that Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 during this event.

With Apple suppliers rumoured to be shipping the next iOS smartphone in September, there have been numerous rumours that Apple will finally announce the iPhone 5 during their iPod event, with other rumours stating the iPhone 5 will become available sometime in October.

Having said all that of course, Apple hasn’t put up their hands and said yes we will be unveiling theiPhone 5 or indeed a new lower priced iPhone at their fall event, so basically everything is still just speculation.

So we ask this question of our iOS faithful readership, will you be very disappointed if Apple doesn’t unveil the iPhone 5 at their iPod event?

iPhone 5 Clone Possibly Reveals Lower Entry Design: Video

No doubt most of the iOS faithful would crucify me for saying this but the video we have for your viewing consideration below isn’t actually the next generation iPhone but rather a clone of the device, but it was made in a factory in Shenzhen China, and I have to say although it is definitely a clone it’s one very pretty copy, and apparently could be based on the iPhone 5 design.

The video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Micgadgets and this is apparently the iPhone 5 clone that Jesus Diaz of Gizmodo believes will be the next iPhone design, and thus the guys managed to get hold of the iPhone 5 clone and review it.

The video isn’t actually the review of this iPhone 5 clone but rather a promo video and last almost three minutes of showing off the knock off device, but it is thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4, and the speculation is could this be the design of the new lower entry iPhone?

In their review the guys say this iPhone 5 clone reminds they of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS with a slight curve, chrome bezel and plastic look, but features a “tapered edge design” which were show in the purported iPhone 5 case leak.

However they come to the conclusion, which no doubt was expected, although this iPhone 5 clone does look pretty, it doesn’t feel nice when you hold it, the front isn’t glass but rather plastic that will crack if you happen to sit on it.

When compared to the iPhone 4 the clone is just .29 inches thick while the iPhone 4 is .37 inches, and when it comes to weight the clone weighs 108 grams while the iPhone 4 weighs 137 grams.

However it is just a clone and as they say you get what you pay for, but the big question with this one is, could Jesus Diaz be right in his assumption that this iPhone clone sports the design of the next iPhone whether that be the iPhone 5 or a lower entry iOS smartphone?
Jesus Diaz has already bet he is right and if wrong will undergo the excruciating torment of having his entire body waxed, but could he be right?

Well we’d love to know what your thoughts are so head on down, mash that play button and check out the footage, and you can check out that full review of the device by hitting up Micgadgets website, but do feel free to let us know your thought on whether this iPhone 5 clone could possible sport a close copy of the design of the next iPhone by posting to our comments area below.

Top Five iPhone 5 Rivals: Keep a close eye on these Androids

With the iPhone 5 release date approaching, the Android camp is also gearing up with their new offerings. Be it lead force Google, or phone manufactures like Motorola or Samsung everything is trying their best to at-least match the pace of Steve Jobs’ latest offering.
As we prepare to welcome the iCloud and iPhone 5, here’s a glimpse on ‘potential’ iPhone 5 contenders; though we really doubt their credentials in matching a la-Apple iPhone, but still we will see when the iPhone 5 is available on the market.
Droid X2: Motorola’s bet with advanced dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor
This rugged Smartphone from Motorola with up-gradations to Android 2.3 makes it a serious competitor to iPhone 5. The main factors making it a serious competitor are its dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, coupled with a 4.3 inch wide screen. Also, the timing may add to its advantage, with another update due in September.
Samsung Galaxy S ll : Prices dipping, Fan-following increasing; Apple watching?
If you are looking some stylish, elegant and slim handset: Samsung Galaxy S II could be a good choice. Powered by powerful 1.2 GHz ‘dual core SoC’ processor and 4 inch 480×800 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, this Android Smartphone is surely going to be quite popular in the U.S, market. With a 8 MP rear focus camera, certified DivX HD — the sell of these smartphones are always on the rise. Galaxy S II with newer features added by both carriers Verizon and AT&T is all set to create havoc in the U.S. market. With Samsung’s announcement of Galaxy S2 to be launched in the US market very soon, keep an eye on this smartphone.
Motorola Droid Bionic: Dual Core Android to be launched in Verizon
Also known as Motorola XT865, this smartphone from Motorola can boost of 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra (or an OMAP) dual core processor, option of enabling wireless 3G hotspot and a 8MP front side camera. With low light capturing mode and video chat compatibility, Verizon customers are sure to have a good time. The connectivity options available would be Bluetooth v2.1, HDMI, MicroUSB and DLNA.
Samsung Hercules: Is iPhone 5 gonna lack behind?
Samsung Galaxy S II or better known as Samsung Hercules is expected to hit the streets sometime in August. Carried on T-Mobile priced at US $350, Galaxy S II is gearing to put up a ‘herculean’ task for Apple in holding on to their customer base.
The features to be integrated as per spec, shows Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread or Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System, 1GB RAM, microSD slot, 8MP 1080p HD video compatible camera, 16GB storage capacity and microUSB and HDMI combined MHL port. With power to support up-to 42Mbps downstream capacity, if specs are true — is sure to surpass iPhone 5. Comparing this with that of iPhone 5: A 1.2 GHz A5 processor, 8MP camera fitted with 4.5 inch display; you can feel Hercules having an edge over the later.
HTC Evo 3D: Smartphone with Multimedia-centric features
With 720p (2D/3D) HD video recording capability coupled with 1080p playback and plus-sized screen of 4.3 inch (10.9cm), this multimedia-centric Android from HTC is a potential contestant. Supported by Android GingerBread Processor 2.3.3, this smartphone would be give you two 5MP cameras and a superior glass-free 4.3” touch-screen — all to give you superior 3D entertainment. Well, the only drawback is it’s only available to Sprint customers.
So friends, keep a watch on all these potential iPhone 5 contenders, as Apple gears up to unveil iPhone 5 in full fledge.

iOS 5 and iCloud Unveiled

iOS 5 and iCloud unveiled: “the truth is in the cloud.”
As scheduled Steve Jobs, Apple CEO hosted the international community in San Francisco, at the tech giant’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference — to demonstrate the newest generation of iOS. Jobs had primarily announced ten basic modifications that have been included in the iOS 5, but in actual scenario Apple has incorporated about 200 fresh features and around 1500 APIs
Let’s go to the fresh-from-factory feature: Skip the cord and sync wirelessly
Apple CEO Jobs had earlier announced that we are entering a post computer era. Complying with Jobs’ line, Apple engineers for the first time had developed the iOS that work without being connected to a PC or MAC machine even once. Unlike previous iOS’, where we have to connect the iPhone or iPad to a Mac or PC running iTunes before getting it started. But this time, as an iOS 5 product is shipped to you, you can simply open the box and start it — a welcome screen would be there, perhaps welcoming us to a ‘PC-free’ era.
As the user switches on the device for the first time, he would be ‘welcomed’ and then prompted to enter the basic info like Apple ID so that we can download all the stuff we have bought from iTunes — be it Apps, music or movie. Needless to say, the download speed does depend on your service provider — this could be a factor if you want to update your iOS wirelessly.
Though this PC-Free (or should we say iTunes Free) activation is sure to win over a lot of supporters, but iTunes will not be abandoned — it enables us to have automatic backup before each syncing. To a lot of us, this back-up and restore system had saved the day, many numbers of times. In any case, it’s always better to have an option to choose: Apple has just done that; left it up to the users to choose which.
Another brilliant thing, we feel Apple is looking for, is to enable the iOS device to connect to iTunes services via Wi-Fi when the device is left idle and do all the required backup work and then do the syncing. So, what we have on the platter? We have the iOS 5 device than can start and be used without hooking up to a PC or MAC even once, which can be updated wirelessly, back-up and syncing can be done wirelessly.
Modifications in notification handling: A welcome change
Well many of us, have been not-so-happy with iOS’ way of handling messages or notifications. Whenever there’s a new one, we had to suspend the ongoing work and pay heed to it. Apple has come up with the solution; though it’s not out-of-the-box, still a first for Apple.
In iOS 5 whenever there is a notification, a (!) symbol will pop at the side of the screen almost unnoticeable and in a non-disturbing way; if the user wants to take immediate action — just tap on the message and the related app opens up. If it does not deserve immediate attention, just ignore it and it vanishes after sometime. When you wish to read back those ignored notifications, there’s the new Notification Centre — which accumulates all these for you to retrieve later. This store and retrieve idea hasn’t been witnessed as of now — Apples’ ingenuity. In the Notification center, the user can delete older ones, by hitting the X and confirming the action by tapping the app and closing it. The best thing we found out in notification settings is that the notifications can be customized app-wise. Not only can you set the display order for the app’s notifications, but you can also customize the apps to show banner notifications and be on Lock Screen too. The last one is useful, if you have to check the updated notifications, you don’t need to unlock the set.
Well, if you are wondering, no, the previous option was better (We don’t think anyone doubts this), there’s also provision of that in iOS. Though the new notification system is set by default, you can revert back to the ‘vintage’ format by configuring your apps by going to Notifications under Settings tab. In some case it may be handy too, say like remembering a meeting or sending instructions.
Apples ‘played’ with Airplay, result: Enhanced mirroring capability
Though iOS Airplay had already won many supporters for its ability to mirror among various Apple or supported products, there was still some limitations. Neither the user could mirror an app in full version, nor can it can be used for apps that don’t support Airplay. iOS 5 developers had gotten rid of the first one by enabling the users to mirror iPads and Airplay directly. If you are looking for using it in presentations, seminars or classrooms — this is just the ideal stuff. All you need to do is, tap the Home Button twice and then swipe right to pop-up the volume/brightness control area and then tap Airplay button and select mirroring for the file you want to. Even an entire app can be mirrored with all the contents and not just ‘previews’.
iOS Message App: It’s time to get over text/SMS/MMS
Announcement of the new messaging services across all iOS 5 devices, has taken us by surprise. Jobs introduced Messages app, an ultimate substitute for all SMS/text/MMS across multiple devices running on iOS 5. This is basically free encrypted messaging service across Apple products — costing you not even a peanut, but depriving (Is it? This should have been done earlier) the service providers from a huge income.
Though iOS 3 onwards, iPhone have been supporting sending and receiving texts, this cross-device free messaging app is the addition. This sync up everything automatically in real-time, enabling you to continue your ‘iMessage’ while shifting from one device to another. Across iOS, these messages are inherently blue colored, bearing the name ‘iMessages’ along with the content, but for non-apple receiver, the file is sent as normal green color SMS. Icing on the cake — there’s more updates related like encrypted chat, messaging in groups and linking more than one mail ids.
Updates in Lock Screen: Nice features added
Well, the lock screen is set to receive some major updates in settings and appearances in the iOS 5.In the lock screen itself; a user can find the ‘new’ Camera app — giving a prompt access to the Camera. You don’t have to double tap the Unlock slider if you are trying to have a quick snap or a quick video only. Well, this is helpful — we often found ourselves in situations where we want to a quick shot of say a bird, and before we unlock the device — it’s gone. You may be wondering — doesn’t this comprise the security of the user’s pictures? Well, Apple engineers have worked on that too, accessing the camera app without unlocking the phone only allows you to take quick picture, but not allow you to browse the stored pictures.
Another small but interesting feature we find in iOS 5 is the Notification Center of Lock Screen. iOS 5 lets you choose from a variety of options — email snippets or text messages of everything you missed; with the sender’s name, content and time-stamp. Say you want to respond to a particular app notification promptly, just sliding the app icon and unlocking the phones gets you to that particular app.
Other minor modifications include a new version of safari web browser along with safari web reader — enabling the user to read a whole newspaper article in one page and if required mail them. The reminder app has received a facelift, enabling group tasks and location centric reminder and can be updated automatically via Outlook or iCal. Also technical improvements have been made on the mail client, adding more features and formatting capabilities.
Last but not the least: iCloud; everything “just works”
iCloud is the most important and anticipated modifications added to iOS 5.
Till now all of us (even Apple users) have to avail the services of iDisk or any other storage services online, to ‘carry’ our documents online along with us. But the main drawback was, even then all the documents were stored to a centralized location and it took time to view or manually download them.
But, iCloud promises to offer much more, something more unique. Apple engineers has made iCloud to offer syncing all data among all your devices — be it iPhones, PCs or iPads in real-time. So, wherever you go, you don’t have to be bothered about your documents, they are always updated automatically.
Just like Steve Jobs announced, iCloud is not a hard-drive in air, but much more than that. You can see this as a wide scale application of same sort of feature limited to iBooks as of now. User can start to work on an iPhone, do another portion on his iPad and complete the rest on a PC — in the mean time all the data gets backed up and updated. If you are wondering how this is possible, it’s the case that syncing in iCloud pushes the data into all your devices, thus updating everything. As of now, 5GB data storage has been allowed per iCloud user, music, books and photos not included.
A basic difference between iCloud and peers is Apple’s aim to set up infrastructure for iOS apps, whereas others are working on browser-run web app platforms. Quoting Jobs “iCloud is integrated with your apps, so everything happens automatically. It just works.”
Summing it up: Conclusion
After messing up with MobileMe’s mistaken contact duplication and missing calendar events, Apple just could offer another debacle. As the preview suggests, iOS 5 seems to have some substantial upgrades like iCloud and Notification Center and being ‘PC-Free’, we would eagerly wait for its release on Q3. We will just have to wait for the grand release this fall, then only we can find out more about its pros and cons.

Top 5 Expected iPhone 5 Features

Innovative, minimalistic, sleek and user friendly. These are just the few qualities that have propelled Apple’s iPhone series years ahead of their competition.
iPhones are not only advanced tech crammed into a small package, in recent years it has become more of a fashion statement, due it’s eye catching white or black simple design, and it’s sexy curves.
Which brings us to number five on the “Top 5 Expected iPhone 5 Features“;
1. Bigger Screen / Ergonomic design
3.7 inch? 4, perhaps? iPhone 4 boasted a 3.5 inch screen which is big, but not big enough according to a percentage of user’s feedback. There are other smart-phones out there that have bigger screens, although lacking the touch-sensitivity that the iPhone has. Many expect the iPhone 5 to include a bigger, full HD, or 3D (it’s not highly impossible), screen that still keeps it’s ultra-sensitive touch that users feel is incomparable to other LCD touch-screen phones.
Another thing that users felt was a let down was iPhone 4′s shape. It had hard edges, making it non-ergonomic.
Some users compared it to holding a small brick up to one’s face when on the phone. A smoother, softer design would make the iPhone 5 more ergonomic and comfortable to use, which is why this is a highly expected design improvement.
2. Full HD 1080P video recording / Full HDMI output
iPhone 4 was rigged with an HD camera. This is a highly expected feature and is very likely to happen due to the fact that HD video cams are being churned out by rival companies with more compact designs recently. Incorporating the technology into the iPhone 5 is not at all far-fetched.
The perfect feature to pair up with a full HD video, is full HDMI output. What would be more awesome than to plug the iPhone 5 into a 50 inch plasma and watch a video of your cat drinking from the sink, in full HD greatness.
3. Improved Battery Life
Previous iPhones were plagued with sub-par battery longevity. Activities like surfing the web using the 3G network, playing graphic intensive games, and even listening to music are quite noticeably huge drainers of battery life. Improvements in this area is very much expected upon Apple by it’s customers.
4. 4G Connectivity
The only downside to the inclusion of this feature, is that many countries are not ready for its implementation of this network, although there is time for more countries to catch up. 4g connectivity means faster download speeds, video streaming and not mention web browsing.
Negatives aside, many have voiced their enthusiasm when it comes to the inclusion of 4g / LTE support for the iPhone 5.
5. Improved RAM / A5 Processor
512Mb of RAM was crammed into the iPhone 4. iPhone 5 should have at least 1Gb crammed into it. More RAM equals more ability to multitask and run more background apps. This would be a welcomed improvement bar none.
The A5 processor was showcased in the recent iPad 2 launch. Many expect it to make a comeback and be included in the iPhone 5. Although don’t be surprised if by the time it is released, Apple has made an even better processor (A6, anyone?).

iPhone 5 Production picture leaked?

Another day, and another iPhone 5 related leak.
This time, it is a photo supposedly taken inside one of Apple’s factories in China. Men in white suits and face masks can be seen, apparently building touch screens for the new iPhone 5. Sources indicated that this particular photo was taken at the Wintek factory, in China.
The photo is quite low-res, and at first glance seem uninteresting, but after closer inspection, more can be deduced on how the iPhone 5 will be like.
Further inspection bolsters the recent “case schematic” leak that supports the notion of an elongated, bigger, home button. As you can see in the image, a hole at the bottom of the frame can be seen, with a rectangular shape.

Another source indicates that the thinner sides means that the rumors of an “edge to edge” design can also be checked on the confirmed list.
So what have we learned from the leak? Elongated home button, check. 4 inch edge to edge screen design, check.
Don’t get too excited though, the photo isn’t CONFIRMED to be from the Wintek factory, which is where iPhone 4 screens are being made. For all we know, the picture could be a distorted photo of the iPhone 4 screen being made.
Let us reserve our judgment until October 7th then, shall we?

iPhone 5 Parts Leaked, Black and White Colors

Two iPhone 5 parts have leaked recently, other sources state that these parts were spotted from multiple online suppliers. Among the parts included are replacement camera lens and replacement headphone jacks, which comes in both black and white.
The headphone jacks further prove that the new iPhone will come in both black and white, unlike the iPhone 4, which was released with only black available due to a manufacturing debacle which caused the white model to only be available last April.
Similarly, parts had leaked before the iPhone 4 was released, although there is a clear difference with this recent leak.

Surprisingly, there are not much details available for camera lens replacement, not even the megapixel rate.
With the release date inching closer and closer, more parts and information will surely leak, until then, lets hope these news will keeps us busy.

Will the iPhone 5 look like this?

Rumors have indicated that September 7th will be the day that Apple will announce the iPhone 5 release date. A media event is said to be held by Apple to reveal it’s latest creation.
Macrumors have caused quite a stir in the iPhone community recently, with it’s supposedly accurate renderings of the iPhone 5. These renderings spawned from the case schematic which was leaked last month. The schematics were said to be from Chinese case manufacturing companies, who are rumored to have already begun manufacturing these said cases.
Macrumors turned to digital art company CiccareseDesign, to “create high-quality renderings made as closely as possible to the original leaked case designs. Measurements were taken against the original case design leaks, and then imported into 3D modeling software.”
The design company basically reversed engineered the case blueprint to create an accurate rendering of how the iPhone 5 will look like.
Judging from both the “case schematic” leak, and Macrumors’ ingenious idea of creating a render, we can safely say that these depictions have a 99% possibility of being accurate.
These renderings have answered a few questions regarding the iPhone 5′s design. One of them being it’s screen size. Judging by the render, the iPhone will have a 4 inch screen measured diagonally. Although it is not much in terms of growth from the previous iPhone it does mean that there will be approximately 15% more viewing space.
The rendering also shows an “elongated” home button. Which is basically a square inside of a rounded rectangle or oval. This might both prove and disprove some rumors. On one side there is a high possibility of the home button making a comeback, squashing any rumors of a “gesture” system in place of it. On the other side, the elongated button might introduce a swipe enabled home button, which some rumors have suggested to be included in the iPhone 5.
Another feature from the render that is worth noted is it’s similarity to the iPhone 3G or iPod Touch. Apparently Apple will be abandoning the glass back design and will be going back to the aluminum for the iPhone 5.
As September 7th inches closer and closer, anticipation for the Apple’s latest innovation grows even bigger. There is no doubt more leaks and rumors will pop up in the coming weeks, but everyone will save their opinions and thoughts for when it is finally revealed by Apple around 4 weeks time.

iPhone 5 Picture leaked in France, “Spy Shot”

A slim iPhone 5 model, Fake or Real?
There was a buzz surrounding us a few days back with a picture of the “upcoming” iPhone 5, the picture was posted by “guigsh – MacRumors forum member”. The guy claiming the iPhone 5 picture was taken in the office of a French operator, he also said “we were able to see it only 2 minutes, pictures forbidden of course, so, we did our best”.
Here is the picture posted;

However we believe that’s just a fake photo that was photoshopped. And even one of the forum members (hdizzle) posted an EXIF data from the picture showing the picture was being edited by using Adobe Photoshop software.
Despite that, we are welcoming the new iPhone 5 to become slimmer like in the photo. Anyway, here’s our version of Photoshopped ones (We are not good at Photoshop, but still here’s what we did – literally done in 10 minutes+);

Actual iPhone 5 Case Shows Curved, 3G-like design

Recently a supposed schematic of the iPhone 5‘s case molding has emerged, while another source (9to5mac) reported to even have the actual case.
According to 9to5mac, it is the same source that brought them the scarily accurate design schematics of the iPad 2 before it was launched way back when.
9to5mac also states that this is the sure candidate for the next gen iPhone’s case, as there are reports of Asian case manufacturers already shipping the same case to global distributors for branding purposes and what-not.

Judging by the schematic and the picture of the case mold on 9to5mac, we can conclude that the overall design of the 5th gen will be a lot thinner and slicker than it’s predecessor. It also shows that the iPhone 5 will boast a frame-less, edge to edge design, a bigger home button and a slightly curved back akin to the design of the iPad 2.
The news of a thinner design is not that new, and has been rumored to be the included in the new iPhone for months now. The iPhone 5 also is purported to have an aluminum back.
Going back to the casing, the shape of it suggests a “tear drop” shape for the iPhone 5. As mentioned before it can also be concluded that it will have an “edge-less” design thus giving it a larger display. Although the surprise comes in the shape of a home button, which was heavily rumored to not make a comeback in the new iPhone. Rather, rumors have stated that a “gesture” system might be implemented in place of it.
With this case, other rumors have also been disproved. Such as Bloomberg and Reuters reporting that the iPhone 4 design is making a comeback, while others have been proven to be accurate, such as reports from Wall Street Journal of a thinner and lighter design. There are also other rumors that says Apple is testing the new iPhone using iPhone 4 shells in order to keep from leaking of information and to ensure secrecy and privacy.
In truth, this case (real or not) actually poses more questions than answer them. With so many sources reporting different things, the only way to know for sure is to wait for Apple themselves to release the info.
We guess we all just have to wait for the real thing, like everyone else
